Mike started playing music at the age of 15, just 41 short years ago.
After seeing the fun his friends were having, he just had to learn to play guitar, start a "back porch" band and make noise which gradually evolved into music.
Over the next few years, after learning bass, keyboards, and drums, Mike progressed to the point of playing professionally with such local groups as 2 Parts Heavy, The Beatniks, Terry Bozeman & The Moss Point Band, and many many others.
All the while, he was always the technician in every band due to his formal electronics training he picked up along the way. Being a perfectionist, he was always concerned (and sometimes frustrated) with the lack of "regulated" sounds in every band, in every venue. He once even had a 50' cord on his bass (in one band) to occasionally check out what adjustments were needed "out front".
Soon, his attention turned to how all the instruments were constantly blended
properly to be enjoyed by the audience. This spurred him to take on more training and experiences as first roadie, system tech., and then sound engineer.
Through the years he was able to study the pro's techniques,
invest hard earned money and, yes, pay his dues resulting in the status he is currently enjoying.
He says he's proud and honored to be of service to such a prestigious group as "Bits & Pieces" band and says: "May we all enjoy our mutual love of music long and prosperously!"
